Operation Breakthrough is always in need of new and used goods for our children and their families. Many of the items listed below can’t be purchased with food stamps.
• Food for the food pantry: Spaghetti sauce, pasta, meat, hearty soups, cereal, macaroni & cheese in a box, jelly and applesauce in plastic jars. Non-perishable items that appeal to children are best.
• Hygiene items for families: toilet tissue, shampoo, bath soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dry-skin lotion, sponges, cleansers, dish washing soap and feminine hygiene items. None of these items can be purchased with food stamps.
• Disposable diapers, size 3 and up. Another essential item that can’t be purchased with food stamps.
• Over-the-counter medications such as aspirin, Tylenol, Eucerin, Clotrimazole (for skin problems), Triaminic decongestant other cold/cough medicines, Triple antibiotic ointment, and children’s Motrin. Help our kids stay healthy this winter!
• Gift certificates to Payless Shoes in $20 increments. Our children need shoes that fit!
• New or gently used children’s clothes and winter coats in sizes to fit youngsters 0 – 16 years. We also appreciate new or used clothes for our moms.
• New underwear and socks to fit youngsters up to age 16.
• Used furniture and household items, especially beds, sheets and blankets.
• Used washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves and stoves in working order.
• Used computers in working order to send home with families that have school-age children.
• New or used children’s educational computer software.
• New or gently used books for youngsters from 6 weeks to 16. Books are given to children to take home, placed in classrooms, or added to our Center library.
