This is the year for the Center’s mortgage to disappear!

We’ve given ourselves a deadline: The funds needed to pay off the Center’s mortgage will be raised by the end of 2008.

“We’ve got to get this monkey off our backs,”
says Sister Corita.

While we are delighted to have new playgrounds and parking space, “the outrageous price we had to pay for that property – derelict buildings and all - has caused our staff and board to spend so much time fundraising. Their energy and the money we have to pay in interest would be much better spent on the children.”

The end of the mortgage is definitely in sight. Thanks to generous year-end gifts and pledges, the amount left to raise has dipped below the million mark – to just $802,000.

Gifts in any amount will help. Please mark checks “Down with the Debt” and mail to Operation Breakthrough, Attention: Sister Corita, 3039 Troost Ave., Kansas City MO 64109. Anyone interested in memorial and other naming opportunities, available for gifts of $10,000 and above, should call Sister Corita at 816-329-5210.
