Good friends in the neighborhood

Imagine Santa with no workshop. That’s what Operation Breakthrough would be without warehouse space in December. We would have hundreds of children counting on us and no way to collect or distribute gifts for them.

Thank goodness our friends at Dean Realty Co. once again let us set up our holiday headquarters in the Downtown Underground, just a short drive west of the Center on 31st Street.

And that’s not all. Their colleagues at Dean Machinery Co., also located on 31st Street, gave Operation Breakthrough another big boost over the holidays - $32,000 raised at the company’s annual charity golf tournament and trap shoot.

“That’s what you call good neighbors,” says Sister Berta. “It’s great to know that we have such good friends just a few blocks away.”
