Operation Breakthrough presents an evening
“Under the Big Top”

At Operation Breakthrough’s 10th-annual fundraiser, you can clown around with your favorite nuns, bid on a death-defying jump with the Navy SEALS and other great items in the auction, then step right up for a spectacular meal and entertainment by our children, the stars of the center ring.

More than 800 guests are expected at “Under the Big Top,” 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, April 25 at the Muehlebach Tower. Tickets, which include drinks, cost $150 each and are available online. You may also get information or reserve tickets by contacting Event Chair Nicole Levy at nicole@operationbreakthrough.org or 816-329-5270.
This stupendous event is presented by JP Morgan, Gene Land and Pat Lloyd Land, The Mutual Fund Store and Waddell & Reed. This year’s honorary co-chairs are Gene Land and Pat Lloyd Land and Tom and Sherri Waris.

Leading the energetic auction committee this year are Chace and Anne Brundige.

“We’re very drawn to the kids,” says Anne, explaining why they volunteered to perform this stunt for the second time in three years. “We see our own kids in their eyes.”

The stunning auction lineup includes two tickets to The Oprah Winfrey Show, plus airfare and hotel, stays in New York City, Hilton Head and San Francisco, tickets to see Dr. Phil, gourmet dining and shopping certificates, boxing gloves autographed by Muhammad Ali, diamond jewelry, fine wine and much more.

Speaking of wine! For the grand finale, our ringmaster will draw the name of the lucky winner of our raffle prize – 36 bottles of wine in a hand-crafted cabinet. (Buy tickets)

Filling the Muehlebach with circus chic will be our ever-faithful Decorations Chair Cheryl Bosley, along with Philip Hickman, Illusions Unlimited and the balloon artisans of Up, Up & Away. Our troupe of tremendously talented volunteers also includes Gloria Feinstein, photography, Kathy Swartz, graphic design, Diane Wolfe, event planning, Gigi Perry, auction sales, and the staff at Mail Print Inc., invitations and programs.

Unfortunately, the nuns nixed the idea of riding into the event atop live elephants, but we have plenty of other surprises in store. So, come one, come all, and be part of the most marvelous feat of all – giving 674 children the support they need to reach their potential.
