Center teens graduate in record numbers
Scholarships awarded to class of 2007

Over lunch, staff started chatting about which Center teens were graduating from high school this year. By the time they finished tallying, they had 20 names.

“I was stunned,” says Sister Berta. “The graduation rate for kids in this part of the city is below 50 percent.”

 
   
 

Increase in child care subsidy guidelines gives some relief but more is needed

Missouri has now moved off the very bottom of the state rankings for giving working families access to child care, but legislation that would have impacted more Center families failed t0 pass in the last session.
